The Women's Coffee Project was a limited run project in 2018 in Colombia. Dedicated to recognizing and celebrating inspirational women, this coffee was powered by women-owned and operated businesses across each step of the value chain: from the producer, exporter, buyer, roaster, to the packaging facility.
Women play critical roles throughout coffee, performing its most basic to its most backbreaking tasks. However, women struggle to get the recognition, respect, and financial compensation they deserve. In addition, gender inequalities often excluded from women from training, education, and financing opportunities limiting access to the support they need to succeed. By investing in women and increasing their economic opportunities as farmers and entrepreneurs, we recognize the potential to build capacity for independent women leaders worldwide.
25% of the profits from the promotions were donated to a Colombian nonprofit that supports women self-empowerment initiatives in coffee communities.
